Alex Morgan dedicated herself to help her teammate Mana Shim.

“It was really hard for Mana because she felt like she was the only one going through it,” Morgan told The Guardian in a recent interview. “I just wanted to be there for her and make sure she knew that she wasn’t alone.”

Morgan went on to say that she was “disgusted” by Riley’s behavior and that she believes Shim when she says he harassed her.

“I stand by Mana 100%,” Morgan said. “No one should have to go through what she went through.” Still, Alex Morgan and Mana Shim had a shared dream of playing professionally in their home country. They both dedicated themselves to making it happen, no matter what obstacles they faced.

From the very beginning, there were those who didn’t want to see a women’s professional soccer league succeed in the United States. Alex Morgan and Mana Shim were determined to prove them wrong.

The two players dedicated themselves to helping their team, the Orlando Pride, win the National Women’s Soccer League championship. Their hard work paid off when the Pride won the title in 2016.
