Alexia Putellas is currently leading a L’Équipe vote.

L’Équipe is a French sports newspaper and their vote is often seen as a predictor for the actual award.
This year, Putellas is currently leading the L’Équipe vote, with over 50% of the readers choosing her as their Ballon d’Or Féminin winner. Kerr, who scored a record-breaking 26 goals in 2019/20, is in second place with just under 10% of the vote, while Bronze and Mead are further behind with 5% and 2% respectively.
This is the first time that Alexia Putellas has led the L’Équipe vote and it would be a historic moment if she were to win the Ballon d’Or. She is currently the only Spanish woman to have been nominated for the award and if she were to win it, she would be the first Spanish woman to do so.
The Ballon d’Or is awarded to the best female footballer of the year and is voted on by a panel of journalists. L’Équipe will announce the winner of the L’Équipe Champion of Champions award, which is given to the best player in Europe, at the event.
Alexia Putellas is currently leading a L’Équipe vote to decide who will receive the honour. The Barcelona and Spain midfielder was named the best player in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and she was a key member of the team that won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Putellas has also been nominated for the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year award.
The L’Équipe Champion of Champions award was created in 2010, and it is given to the best player in Europe each year. Previous winners include Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Luka Modric.
The award ceremony will be held on Monday, October 17th at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
