All you need to know about the Canadian Hockey player Ashley McCutcheon.
Ashley McCutcheon, a third-year forward for the Queen’s Gaels women’s hockey team, had an impressive weekend with four points in two games against the Nipissing Lakers. Ashley scored a goal and added three assists as Queen’s captured their first win of the season by defeating Nipissing 4–1.
Ashley then followed up with another assist in the team’s 3–2 loss on Sunday. Ashley is a native of London, Ontario and has been a member of Canada Women Hockey for two years. As an experienced hockey player, Ashley has developed her game to become an offensive leader for Queen’s Gaels. Ashley’s hard work and dedication have been instrumental in Queen’s Gaels’ success this season.
Ashley currently leads the team in scoring with seven points in nine games played. Ashley has also been named a U SPORTS All-Star twice since joining Canada Women Hockey. Ashley is one of the top players to watch out for this upcoming season, as she looks to help Queen’s Gaels to the playoffs. She has made great strides in Canada Women Hockey and is considered to be one of the most promising players.
McCutcheon had a tremendous rookie season with UPEI, leading the team in points (15) while playing all 28 regular-season games. She also earned U Sports All-Rookie Team honours as well as being named the UPEI Panthers’ Rookie of the Year.
McCutcheon was also part of Canada’s national women’s hockey team for the 2018-19 season, where she played in two exhibition games and won a gold medal at the 2019 Nations Cup. Ashley was also an alternate captain for Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge (WJAC) that year.
McCutcheon is a highly-skilled forward who has the potential to become one of Canada’s top players. She has incredible vision, speed and agility on the ice, as well as great puck control. Ashley is quickly becoming a leader in Canadian Women Hockey and she continues to shine with her stellar play.
