Allyson Felix helps her team to get to the final.

Allyson Felix, 36, had retired after the 2016 Rio Olympics, but she came back this year to compete in the 400 meters. She did not make the U.S. team for that event, but she was added to the relay pool.
The United States qualified third behind Jamaica and Britain. The other qualifiers were Poland, Ukraine, Trinidad and Tobago, Belgium and Switzerland.
Felix, who ran the third leg, pulled the U.S. team from seventh place to third in the qualifying round with a time of 3 minutes 25.38 seconds at the world championships in London on Friday. The Americans will be going for their fourth straight title in Saturday’s final. “I’m excited to join the team in this unique experience and support them however I can", - said Allyson.
The 36-year-old Felix is a six-time Olympic gold medalist and widely considered the greatest female sprinter of all time. She holds the world record in the women’s 400 meters, with a time of 49.26 seconds.
Felix will be eligible to compete in the 400 meters, 4x400 meter relay, and mixed 4x400 meter relay at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. It will be her fifth Olympic games.
“This is an incredible opportunity for me and I’m so grateful to have been selected,” Felix said. “I’m looking forward to doing whatever I can to help the team.”
The U.S. team is currently in first place in the medal count with 29 medals, including 12 golds. Britain is in second place with 23 medals, followed by China with 22 medals.
Will Allyson Felix be able to help her team win the final on Sunday? We’ll have to wait and see!
