The 27-year-old was arrested on Tuesday and is being held in custody pending further investigation, a police source told AFP.

This is the second time Diallo has been arrested in connection with the case, after she was first detained in December. Hamraoui, who plays for French club Olympique Lyonnais, was attacked and seriously injured in her home in November.

Diallo and Hamraoui were teammates at PSG before Diallo left the club in 2018. Aminata Diallo, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain, has been arrested for a second time in connection with the attack on her former teammate Kheira Hamraoui.

Hamraoui was viciously attacked last November after a dinner in connection with PSG. The midfielder was dragged from the car she was in by two masked men and was left requiring stitches in her hands and legs.

The attack was captured on CCTV, and Aminata Diallo was arrested soon after. However, she was released on bail and has now been rearrested after new evidence has come to light.

The motive for the attack is still unclear, but it is believed that Diallo was jealous of Hamraoui’s success. Hamraoui has been a key player for PSG since she joined the club in 2014, while Diallo has only made sporadic appearances.

The two players were teammates at the Under-19 World Cup in 2012, where they helped France to a second-place finish.

It is not yet known what will happen to Diallo, but she faces a possible prison sentence if she is found guilty of the attack on Hamraoui.

The motive for the attack is still not clear, but it is believed that there was bad blood between the two players.
