Angela Lee will be fighting soon with the Champion Xiong Jing Nan.

Angela Lee will be defend her ONE atomweight title against Xiong Jing Nan in the headlining bout, and it will be a rematch of their first encounter which saw Lee come away victorious. However, many people are giving Xiong the advantage this time around due to her experience and improved striking game.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Bas Rutten is one of those people, and he believes that Xiong will be the one holding the belt after Saturday night.

“I think Xiong Jing Nan is going to win,” Rutten said on his PodcastOne show. “First of all, she’s a great striker. If you look at her last fight against Bethe Correia, she dropped her with a head kick and then finished her with ground and pound. She’s got great striking, and I think that Angela Lee is going to try to take her down.”

“I think Xiong Jing Nan will stuff the takedowns, and we all know that Angela Lee’s stand-up isn’t the best. Xiong Jing Nan will win by TKO in the second or third round, I believe.”

Xiong, on the other hand, wants to cement her status as the top female strawweight in Asia. The Chinese star suffered the first loss of her career against Brazil’s Michele Nicolini in August 2015 but has bounced back with three consecutive wins.

Xiong picked up the inaugural ONE FC Strawweight World Title in January 2017 with a dominant display against Tiffany Teo.

Lee and Xiong first met at ONE: ASCENSION in November 2016, with Xiong winning by unanimous decision. The rematch will take place at ONE: UNSTOPPABLE DREAMS in Singapore.
