Ashley McCutcheon was named the best Canada Female hockey player of the week for the period ending January 22, 2023.

Ashley, a forward for the University of Alberta Pandas has been playing some great hockey all season long. Ashley’s stellar performance this week was further evidence of her talent and dedication as she scored 4 goals and 8 assists in just 5 games.

Ashley also helped the Pandas to an impressive 6-0 win over their opponents, making her an invaluable asset to her team. Ashley’s impressive play and leadership have earned her the honor of Canada Female Hockey Player of the Week.

Those goals, along with her other impressive efforts on the ice, earned Ashley the honour of being named Canada’s Female Hockey Player of the Week. Ashley is the first player from UPEI to receive this recognition since 2016 and joins an esteemed list of players across all levels to receive such an honour.

Ashley’s leadership and determination will undoubtedly be a major contributor to the UPEI Panthers’ success this season. She finished the week with two goals and four assists in three games. Ashley McCutcheon has been instrumental to the Panthers’ success this season and is one of the team’s most valuable players.

She leads the team in points, is second in assists, and third in goals. Ashley’s performance earned her recognition as Canada Female Hockey Player of the Week. This marks Ashley’s second consecutive weekly award and is further testament to her impressive skill as a hockey player.
