Australian Open- Coco Gauff says she's looking forward to meet Emma Raducanu on Wednesday the 18th.
Gauff and Raducanu will meet on Wednesday 18th, after Gauff’s emphatic first round victory over Anastasia Potapova. The American has been no stranger to success in Grand Slam tournaments, famously making it as far as the fourth round of Wimbledon last year at just 15 years old.
She’ll face stiffer competition this time around however, as Raducanu beat the experienced Timea Babos in her first round match. The British player has been on the professional circuit for three years and is currently ranked 73 in the world, whereas Gauff is ranked just 66th.
Coco Gauff is arguably the biggest breakout star of this year’s Australian Open and many are looking forward to her taking on Emma Raducanu, who has been impressing with her fine performances so far.
Gauff comes into the match in high spirits after defeating four higher ranked players on her way to the third round, including qualifying for the main draw. Raducanu has also made a name for herself in this tournament, becoming the youngest player ever to reach the third round at the Australian Open.
The two teenagers have yet to face each other on the court before and Wednesday’s match will be their first meeting. The match is sure to be an exciting encounter, with Gauff and Raducanu both looking to prove their worth as some of the brightest stars of the next generation.
The whole world will have their eyes on this match when Gauff takes on Raducanu at the Australian Open on Wednesday 18th February.
