Canada Soccer's Women moments of the month for January 2023.
Canada Soccer’s Women continued their success in 2023, kicking off the New Year with a memorable moment of the month for January. Canada’s Kailen Sheridan made an incredible goal line save against Brazil to preserve Canada’s 1-0 victory in Torreon, Mexico on January 25th.
Canada went on to win the CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament, earning Canada’s first-ever qualification for the Tokyo in 2020 Women’s Olympic Football Tournament. Canada had a total of four remarkable moments of the month in 2023: Kailen Sheridan’s goal line save, Janine Beckie scoring Canada’s only goal against Brazil, Stephanie Labbé’s shutouts in Canada’s final two matches, and Canada’s winning the CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Canada Soccer’s Women 2023 team is looking forward to having D’Angelo as part of their squad for the upcoming tournament. Canada Soccer’s Women 2023 team also welcomes Chantal Givans as a new member.
Givans joins Canada after putting in standout performances with University of West Virginia Mountaineers and Canada Soccer’s U-17 Women’s National Team. Canada Soccer’s Women 2023 team will benefit from her speed and technical ability on the pitch.
Canada Soccer’s Women 2023 team is also delighted to welcome young striker Nicole Lyon who is coming off of a successful season with Ottawa Fury in Canada’s U Sports League. Canada Soccer’s Women 2023 team is looking forward to having her play making power joining the squad.
Canada Soccer’s Women 2023 team is determined to make a mark in the coming tournament, and with its new additions it looks like they will have the talent and skills needed to do just that.
