Claressa Shields hails Canelo Alvarez after his undisputed win over Gennady Golovkin.

The two boxing greats met in a trilogy fight on Saturday, with Canelo winning by unanimous decision.
Claressa took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the fight, and she was full of praise for Canelo. “Canelo is the undisputed middleweight champion of the world,” Claressa wrote. “He’s a true champion in every sense of the word.
“GGG is a great fighter, but Canelo was the better man tonight. Congrats to him on an amazing performance.”
Claressa is the reigning Olympic and professional middleweight champion, and she is widely considered to be the best female boxer in the world.
Claressa Shields, the two-weight world champion, took to social media to express her thoughts on Canelo Alvarez’s performance. “GGG is one of the hardest punchers in boxing and Canelo walked him down like it was nothing,” Shields wrote on Twitter.
“He’s (Canelo) not human. Claressa Shields added: “He’s the best fighter in the world, pound for pound. Canelo Alvarez is a stud and I can’t wait to see him fight again.”
The Canelo vs Golovkin trilogy started back in September 2017, with the first fight ending in a controversial draw. Canelo then won the rematch by a narrow margin, with one judge scoring it 115-113 to Golovkin, while the other two had it 114-114.
This third and final encounter was once again closely contested, but Canelo did enough to edge it and unify all four major world titles at middleweight. Canelo is now the WBA (Super), WBC, IBF and IBO champion. Claressa Shields, who holds the WBC and IBF titles at super-middleweight, called Canelo Alvarez “the best fighter in the world, pound for pound” after his points victory over Gennady Golovkin.
She has previously stated that she would be open to fighting Canelo in the future, and Saturday’s performance will only have increased her interest in a showdown with the Mexican superstar.
