Coco Gauff was qualified for WTA Finals.

Coco Gauff, who made her Grand Slam debut at Wimbledon this year, has had a breakout season that includes wins over Venus Williams, Simona Halep and Naomi Osaka.
Coco will face Simona Halep, Sofia Kenin and Elina Svitolina in the first round-robin group. Coco said: “I am thrilled and honoured to have been awarded a spot in this year’s WTA Finals. To be the youngest American to qualify since Lindsay Davenport is an incredible feeling and I can’t wait to compete against the best players in the world.”
Coco is guaranteed three matches as she will face each member of her group once. The top two players from each group will advance to the semi-finals. Coco will open her campaign against second seed Simona Halep on Sunday.
The Romanian is a former world No.1 and a two-time Grand Slam champion. Coco said: “I am looking forward to playing Simona. She is an amazing player and I have always enjoyed watching her.”
“It will be a tough match but I am excited for the challenge.”
Coco Gauff has had a breakout year in 2019 and she will be looking to continue her good form at the WTA Finals. Coco said: “I have worked hard to get here and I am just going to try and enjoy the experience.”
“I want to thank my team, my family and all of my supporters for helping me to get where I am today. I am really excited to have qualified for the WTA Finals,” Gauff said in a statement. “It has been one of my goals since I started playing tennis and it is an incredible feeling to have accomplished it.”
She will join a star-studded field at the WTA Finals that includes defending champion Elina Svitolina, newly crowned U.S. Open champion Bianca Andreescu, and former World No. 1s Ashleigh Barty, Karolina Pliskova and Serena Williams.
The WTA Finals will take place from October 27-November 3.
