Emma Raducanu revealed it was hard for her to win Camila Osorio.

The 19-years old Emma Raducanu, who is now ranked 190 in the world, was given a wildcard into the qualifying event and had to come through three rounds to make the main draw. And she continued her fine form with a battling 6-7 (5-7) 7-6 (8-6) 6-3 victory over world number 177 Camila Osorio.
“I’m so happy to get the win,” Raducanu said. “It was a really tough match out there today. “Camila is a great player and she made it very difficult for me, especially in those first two sets. But I’m just glad I was able to come through in the end.”
Emma added: “It was really tough. I mean, I think I died like three times during the match. “I was just trying to stay positive and tell myself that every point counts and that I have to fight for every single one. “In the end, I’m just really happy that I was able to turn it around and get the win.”
Raducanu is playing in her first WTA tournament since February and admits she is still getting used to the level after a long lay-off. She said: “It’s been tough, I haven’t played that much tennis this year. I had a few injuries and then the pandemic hit so it’s been a little bit of everything, but I’m just happy to be back on the court and competing. I’m just taking it one match at a time and hopefully I can keep going.”
This is Emma’s first WTA Tour quarter-final, and she is the first British woman to reach this stage of the tournament since Jo Durie in 1984. “It was my first time playing her and I knew she was a really good player. I just tried to focus on my own game and not think about the score too much,” Emma said after the match.
“In the tie-break I just tried to stay calm and not think about it too much. I’m just really happy to get the win.”
Raducanu will now face American qualifier Emma Navarro in the second round.
