In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Carneiro said that she still has an affection for Chelsea despite the events of five years ago, and that it may be possible to make amends with the club in the future.

“I was really hurt by what happened but I don’t want people to feel sorry for me,” Carneiro said. “I am resilient and I try to find the positive in every situation. It would be great if I could return to Chelsea one day and rebuild those bridges, but that’s something that needs to be discussed between both parties.”

Carneiro was a key member of the Chelsea medical team for six years, and her departure was met with widespread disapproval from both players and fans of the club. After a long and drawn-out legal process, it was finally announced on Wednesday that Carneiro has reached an agreement with Chelsea.

Now, more than two and a half years after the infamous incident at Stamford Bridge, former team doctor Eva Carneiro is ready to return to the club. Carneiro was initially removed from her role at Chelsea after a misunderstanding with then-manager Jose Mourinho during a match against Swansea City in 2015.

The incident sparked waves of criticism towards Mourinho and saw Carneiro forced to take legal action over claims of constructive dismissal, which she later won. Carneiro has now accepted an offer to return to Chelsea in an advisory role at the club’s Cobham training ground.

The staff member is also expected to work with Chelsea’s Women’s team, who have been on a remarkable run of form recently. It remains to be seen whether Carneiro’s dream will come true, but it would certainly be a popular move among Chelsea supporters if she could make her return to Stamford Bridge in the near future.
