Georgia Stanway couldn't but sing the song Sweet Caroline.

Georgia Stanway says she was so embarrassed when she had to do just that, but her new teammates found it hilarious.

The England international joined Manchester City from Liverpool in the summer of 2015 and has since gone on to become one of the best young players in the country. She was part of the England team that won the 2016 U19 Euros, and after the final she was asked to sing ‘Sweet Caroline’ in front of her new teammates.

“I had just joined City and most of my teammates were German, so I was a bit embarrassed,” Stanway told The Telegraph". But it seems like her new teammates found it hilarious, as Stanway says she “couldn’t stop laughing”.

It’s not the first time that Stanway has sung the song, as she also did it after City won the FA Cup in 2016.

Georgia Stanway did just that, much to the amusement of her Manchester City team-mates.

The football player belted out a rendition of ‘Sweet Caroline’ as the City squad relaxed on a post-match night out at a restaurant in Dubai following their 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the WSL on Sunday.

It is unclear why Stanway felt the need to entertain her team-mates with the Neil Diamond song, which is regularly sung by supporters of rivals Manchester United.

The England international, who has been capped nine times by her country, has been in fine form this season and was on the scoresheet as City beat Arsenal.

Stanway has scored eight goals in 12 appearances for City this season, including a hat-trick in the Champions League against Ukrainian side Zvezda 2005.

Georgia Stanway joined Wolfsburg from Manchester City earlier this summer and showed no fear in belting out a rendition of the hit Neil Diamond song, Sweet Caroline. She has made an instant impact at her new club, scoring twice on her debut against Hoffenheim.

And it seems the 23-year-old is already a fans’ favourite, as she was filmed leading a chorus of Sweet Caroline in the dressing room after the game. Georgia Stanway is certainly settling in well at her new club!
