Everton’s Jess Park has been in scintillating form so far this season, scoring four goals and setting up two more in just six games. She is quickly becoming one of the most dangerous attackers in the Women’s Super League.
Park scored Everton’s first goal and set up their second in Everton’s 3-0 win over Liverpool on Sunday. Everton will look to continue their good form when they take on Birmingham City next weekend.
In Everton’s 2-1 home win over West Ham United on September 27, the 21-year-old put in a brilliant solo performance, capping off her Everton debut with a goal in the 90th minute.
Park started her Everton career on the right wing but was soon switched to the left, where she caused problems for the West Ham defence all afternoon. Everton took the lead in the first half through a header from Inessa Kaagman, but West Ham levelled things up just before the hour mark with a goal from Adriana Leon.
With the game seemingly heading for a draw, Park had other ideas and netted the winner for Everton in dramatic fashion, cutting in from the left and firing a low shot past West Ham goalkeeper Laura Lyttelton.
The goal was just rewards for Park, who was Everton’s stand-out performer on the day, and she will no doubt be looking to build on that display in the weeks and months to come. Everton will next be in action on October 4 when they travel to face Bristol City.
