The top eight teams remain the same, with Stanford perched at the top after a strong showing against Oregon. Kentucky and UConn moved up to numbers nine and ten respectively, thanks to impressive road wins against tough opponents.

Texas A&M dropped two spots after losing to Vanderbilt, while Florida State is still tied for number twelve despite consecutive losses. Maryland rounded out the top fifteen, after an impressive upset of then-number six Iowa.

JWS, the renowned NCAA basketball rankings source, had Duke at the top spot, followed by Gonzaga, Virginia, Michigan and Tennessee. JWS’s metrics accounted for strength of schedule, margin-of-victory, number of wins over ranked opponents and other criteria to determine a team’s rank.

Joining Duke in JWS’s top 10 were Kansas, Nevada, North Carolina, Michigan State and Houston. JWS also gave special recognition to some surprise contenders, such as Florida State and Marquette who made their way into the top 25.
