Kate Jayden set a new Guinness World Record.

The 37-year-old Kate Jayden, who is originally from Australia but now lives in the UK, completed the Glasgow Marathon on Sunday in a time of 3:07:20, beating the previous record by more than two minutes.
Jayden completed the 26.2 mile distance in an incredible 3 hours and 8 minutes, despite having a stress fracture in her right knee.
Kate told Guinness World Records that she “hadn’t planned” to break the record, but had been “chasing a time” of 3:10:00. “I decided to give it a go anyway and just went for it,” she said.
Jayden completed the race with a support team of her husband and two friends, who helped her with logistics and provided moral support. The runner, who is a full-time mother-of-two, started her challenge on January 10th, and ran the equivalent of a marathon a day - 26.2 miles (42.2km) - for 106 days.
The previous Guinness World Record for the ‘most consecutive marathons run by a female’ was held by Mimi Anderson of the UK, who completed 104 marathons in 2010. Kate Jayden said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have set a new Guinness World Record. It’s something I never thought I’d be able to do but I’m so pleased that I’ve been able to achieve it.”
Kate Jayden ran 731 full marathons, which is 17 more than the previous world record holder. “Running a marathon a day was a huge challenge but it was also incredibly rewarding. I’m extremely grateful to everyone who supported me throughout my challenge, including my family, friends and the fantastic team at GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS.”
Jayden raised over £10,000 for two charities close to her heart - St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield and Derbyshire Mind - during her gruelling challenge.
Kate Jayden is an amazing woman and we are so proud of her!
