The Irishwoman Katie Taylor, who is undefeated in 15 professional fights, claimed a unanimous points decision victory in front of a partisan home crowd at Dublin’s 3 Arena on Saturday night.

Afterwards, she called out Serrano, who holds the WBO featherweight title, for a showdown at Croke Park in July. “I would love to fight Amanda Serrano in a rematch,” Taylor said. “She’s a great fighter and I have a lot of respect for her. She’s somebody that I would love to share the ring with again.”

The pair met earlier this year at Madison Square Garden, with Taylor winning by seventh-round stoppage. However, Serrano claimed that the fight was stopped prematurely and called for a rematch. It remains to be seen if the Puerto Rican will accept Taylor’s challenge, but the Irishwoman is confident that she can come out on top in a second encounter.

“I know I can beat her,” she said. “The first fight was stopped too early. I know I can beat her and I’ll do it again.” But after the fight, all Katie could think about was a rematch with Amanda Serrano. “I definitely want a rematch with Amanda,” Katie said in her post-fight interview. “I feel like I have unfinished business with her.”

Katie and Amanda met earlier this year in New York, with Katie winning a hard-fought decision. However, many felt that Amanda deserved the victory, and Katie is clearly keen to put the matter to bed once and for all.

“She’s a great fighter, and I have a lot of respect for her,” Katie said of Amanda. “But I know I can beat her, and I want to prove it.”

So far, Amanda has not responded to Katie’s call-out, but it is surely only a matter of time before she does. This could be the biggest fight in women’s boxing history, and both Katie and Amanda will be desperate to come out on top.
