Leah Williamson, Jill Scott and Ellen White will officially participate in London Marathon.

Leah will start the elite women’s race, Jill the elite men’s race and Ellen the mass race. The trio became overnight sensations after their performances at last year’s World Cup in France, helping England to a fourth-place finish.
Leah was named the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year, while Jill and Ellen were both shortlisted for the prestigious Sports Personality of the Year award.
Jill said: “I’m so excited to be starting the London Marathon tomorrow. It’s such a special event and it’s an honour to be asked to do it. I know there are going to be lots of people cheering us on and I can’t wait to see all the amazing runners taking part.”
Ellen added: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I’m really looking forward to it. I just hope I don’t get too nervous on the day!”
The London Marathon will be broadcast live on BBC One tomorrow from 9am. Leah, Jill and Ellen will be starting the race at 9.45am. “We are so proud to have been selected and can’t wait to take on the challenge in front of what is always an amazing atmosphere on Marathon day.”
Scott, who has just returned from maternity leave, said: “I’m extremely excited and honoured to have been chosen as one of the starters for next year’s marathon. It’s a great privilege to be part of such an iconic event and I can’t wait to take on the challenge in front of the amazing London crowds.”
White, who has been in sensational form for both club and country this year, said: “I’m delighted to have been selected as one of the starters for next year’s marathon. It’s an amazing event and I can’t wait to take on the challenge in front of the incredible London crowds.”
