Mallory Pugh is called 'the offensive player of the year'

Mallory Pugh, 24, has tallied two goals and an assist so far in 2019 as the Red Stars remain unbeaten at home. Pugh’s versatility has been key for the Red Stars, as she has played both as a winger and a striker this season. When asked about her role on the team, Pugh said she is “willing to play anywhere on the field.”
Pugh’s ability to create scoring opportunities has been evident this season. In the Red Stars’ home opener against Orlando Pride, Pugh had a hand in both of Chicago’s goals. Her pass to Yuki Nagasato led to the game-tying goal in the second half, and then Pugh scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time.
Pugh has also been a key member of the U.S. Women’s National Team, helping the team win the World Cup in 2015 and the Olympics in 2016. Pugh is currently training with the USWNT for the 2019 World Cup.
It’s safe to say that she has been one of the most consistent and dangerous strikers in the league this season.
She’s currently third in the Golden Boot race with six goals and has also contributed two assists. It’s safe to say that she has been one of the most consistent and dangerous strikers in the league this season.
Her biggest asset is her speed and finishing ability. She’s able to create separation from defenders and make well-timed runs into the box. Her clinical finishing has led to some important goals for her club this season.
What separates her from other strikers is her work ethic. She’s always looking to make something happen on the pitch and is always a threat to score. Her tireless effort is one of the reasons why she’s been so successful this season.
If she can continue her strong form, there’s no reason why she can’t be one of the league’s top goalscorers this season. She has all the tools to be a prolific goalscorer at the highest level.
