The 20-year-old, who only signed for United last month, took just eight minutes to open her account at Leigh Sports Village.

Born in Guernsey, Maya Le Tissier joined Manchester United at the age of eight and has been with the club ever since. She progressed through the ranks and made her first-team debut in September 2020, coming on as a substitute in a 4-0 win over Aston Villa.

Since then, she has gone on to establish herself as a regular starter for Manchester United, making 13 appearances in all competitions so far this season. Her performances have earned her rave reviews and she has been tipped for a bright future in the game.

Le Tissier is a versatile player who can operate either as a full-back or in midfield. She is an excellent dribbler and has a good delivery, making her a dangerous weapon going forward. She is also a solid defender and has shown her ability to read the game well

Le Tissier then doubled her tally with a fine solo effort in the second half, before substitutes Ella Toone and Kirsty Hanson completed the rout. It was an impressive start to life at United for Le Tissier, who will be hoping to make a name for herself in the English game.

The youngster has already represented England at Under-19 level and was part of the squad that won the 2018 U19 European Championship. Maya also set up United’s third for Lauren James with a low cross, as Casey Stoney’s side ran out comfortable winners.

It was a dream debut for Le Tissier, who only joined Manchester United in January from Reading, and she is already being tipped for big things.
