Napheesa Colier has the opportunity to get into LYNX.

Napheesa Collier, who was acquired by the Lynx in a trade with the Connecticut Sun last offseason, has yet to play in a game for Minnesota. She is coming back after giving birth to her daughter Mila. Colier has been working out with the LYNX since she was drafted in April and is very familiar with their system. Head coach Cheryl Reeve said Colier will be a “great fit” on the team. Cheryl said the hope is that Collier can become a part of the team’s rotation by the end of the season. “We’re trying to get her more and more reps, so she can be out there and help us,” Reeve said. Collier has been impressive in her limited minutes this season. “She was able to do some five-on-zero today,” said Cheryl. “She’s progressing. She’s not quite ready for full contact, but we’re getting her closer.” She averaged 13.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game for the Sun in 2018. Colier is averaging 15.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game this season. She’s shooting 52.5 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range. Collier, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft, is still on track to make her professional debut. Lynx will host the Chicago Sky on Friday before playing at the Connecticut Sun on Sunday.
