Ons Jabeur and her ‘act of kindness’ after final defeat.

The Tunisian player was defeated by Iga Swiatek in straight sets, but she made headlines for her actions during and after the match.
First, Jabeur held her hand up to apologize to the crowd for not playing her best tennis. Then, as she walked off the court, she stopped to console a ball boy who was visibly upset.
“I just wanted to tell him that it’s OK, we all have bad days,” Jabeur told reporters later. “I told him he did a great job and he should keep his head up high.”
“But I want to congratulate her for an amazing tournament and to thank my team, who have been with me throughout this journey. It was an honour to compete in front of you all and I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported me."
“This is just the beginning and I promise to work hard to come back stronger and achieve my dreams.”
It’s not the first time Jabeur has shown her kind side on the court. Last year, she comforted a crying ball girl at the French Open after losing a point.
But despite the disappointment, Ons Jabeur showed her class after the match when she gave her opponent a heartfelt hug and consoled her in a touching moment.
It was a gesture that drew praise from fans and commentators alike, with many lauding the 28-year-old for her sportsmanship.
This is not the first time Ons Jabeur has shown her compassionate side, as she had previously consoled an emotional Vera Zvonareva after defeating her in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.
Clearly, Ons Jabeur is a class act both on and off the court. Even in defeat, she knows how to put a smile on someone’s face.
Jabeur may not have won the US Open, but she’s certainly won over fans with her sportsmanship.
