Photographer Lynne Cameron has revealed some facts about Chloe Kelly's photo at Euro 2022.

Lynne Cameron, who is well-known for her work with the English national team, was on hand to document their every step en route to claiming their first ever European Championship title. And she’s revealed some fascinating behind-the-scenes insights into one of her most famous images - Chloe Kelly’s match-winning goal against Germany in the semi-final.

“I was tracking Chloe’s run and I could see that she was going to be in a great position to score,” Cameron told BBC Sport.“So I just kept focusing on her and luckily the shot came off perfectly.”

It was a historic moment not only for England, but also for Kelly herself, who became the first English player to score in a European Championship semi-final. “It was just an amazing feeling to be able to capture that moment,” Cameron said.

“I’ve been lucky enough to photograph some pretty special moments in my career, but this is definitely up there with the best of them. I feel so lucky to have been a part of this journey with the team and to witness their history-making achievement first-hand,” Lynne said of her time photographing the Lionesses.

“The atmosphere around the whole tournament was incredible – from the fans in the stadium to those watching at home – the whole nation was right behind us. It was also amazing to see how much impact the team’s success had on young girls and women up and down the country. I think we will start to see a real shift in the way girls perceive themselves and what they can achieve both on and off the pitch.

“I feel so proud to have been a part of it and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this team.”
