Sally Munday is the UK’s first ever Director of Women in Sport, a role she took on in April 2020 after seven years working at English Institute of Sport. In her new role, Sally works to develop and implement strategies that promote gender equality and inclusion across all levels of sport both domestically and internationally.

In addition to her work in the UK, Sally has been actively speaking out about misogyny and stereotypes in sport. She believes it is essential to create a safe, inclusive culture within sport that celebrates diversity and provides equal opportunities for everyone regardless of gender or other characteristics.

Sally also believes that understanding why these issues exist is as important as addressing them and creating solutions. Sally has received numerous awards for her activism and has been featured in several publications, including The Guardian and BBC Sport. Sally’s dedication to gender equality and inclusion serves as an inspiring example for people all over the world who are committed to making a difference in this area.

Sally is passionate about increasing opportunities for women in sport and wants to ensure that sport is an inclusive and fair environment for everyone. Sally Munday is certainly a name to remember when it comes to fighting for gender equality in sport.

In her own words Sally expresses her vision of the future: “I want to create an environment where women have equal opportunity to play and coach at all levels; where girls feel inspired to take up sport and stay in it for life, regardless of their background or ability.” Sally Munday is an inspiration for us all to follow her example and strive for gender equality in sport.
