In 2012, she became the oldest player to win a singles Slam at Wimbledon since 1990, and in 2013, she won her sixth Wimbledon title, breaking Martina Navratilova’s record for most wins at the All England Club by a female player.

In 2015, Williams became the first woman in the Open Era to record 300 main-draw wins at Grand Slams. Williams has played in more Grand Slam singles finals than any other player in the Open Era, 23. She also holds the record for the most wins in women’s singles at the major tournaments of any active female player, with 236 victories.

Serena is also one half of the “Serena Slam”, winning four consecutive Grand Slams in 2013-14. Serena has also won a record four Olympic gold medals in women’s tennis singles. Serena is the only player, male or female, to have won singles titles at least six times at every Grand Slam tournament.

Williams has reached the final of all four Grand Slam tournaments at least ten times, tied with Margaret Court for the most in history. Serena has also appeared in more Grand Slam women’s singles finals than any other player in the Open Era. Serena has also won a record five Wimbledon singles titles in the Open Era.

Serena has won four Olympic gold medals, one in women’s singles and three in doubles, tying her with Stefi Graf for the most Olympic gold medals by a tennis player. Serena is also the only player to have won two Olympic gold medals in both singles and doubles.

In 2002, Serena was named one of the “30 Legends of Women’s Tennis: Past, Present and Future” by Time. Serena Williams is considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time. She has been ranked world No. 1 by the Women’s Tennis Association on eight occasions, from 2002 to 2017.
