Serena Williams has revealed that she was not happy after her final match.
Serena Williams said she was feeling “devastated and confused” over the defeat, admitting that she never expected to lose. She had come into the tournament as one of the favourites to win her 23th Grand Slam title but instead suffered a loss to Belinda Bencic in the final.
Serena Williams admitted that she was “not happy” after those defeats, and said that it was one of the toughest times in her career. She went on to say that she is determined to get back to winning form and is looking ahead with optimism as she prepares for upcoming tournaments.
Serena is still considered one of the best tennis players in the world, and her commitment to getting back on top will surely inspire many athletes. Serena’s resilience is a testament to her drive, determination and passion. With hard work and dedication she has already achieved so much in her career, and there is no doubt that she will continue to be an example of excellence for years to come.
She said, “I’m definitely not happy with my performance today and I think that’s what makes it so hard to leave the court, knowing that I could have done better. I had high expectations for myself, and even though the end result wasn’t what I wanted, it doesn’t mean I can’t be proud of what I was able to accomplish.”
Serena Williams was clearly not happy after the match with Raducanu and said, “I haven’t had much preparation going into this tournament so it wasn’t really a surprise for me to lose. I wasn’t playing my best either, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to win. I gave it my all, but it wasn’t enough.”
Williams has been attempting to make a comeback after giving birth to her daughter Olympia in 2017 and made the semi-finals of Wimbledon this year, but she still fell short in the final match.
