Taylor Trussler was named the best hockey player of the week for the period ending February 5, 2023.

Taylor’s performance earned her the Canadian Women Hockey League (CWHL) Player of the Week award for the period ending February 5, 2023. Taylor scored all three goals in a span of 8:37, starting at 18:32 of the second period, to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 Blues lead that would stand up as the final score.

Taylor’s hat trick was the first of her career and came in just her second game back with the Blues after a bout with injury. Taylor is currently tied for fourth in points (7) for U of T, despite playing in only three games thus far this season.

Taylor’s performance against Guelph not only put her back in the good books of U of T coaches, but also earned her well-deserved recognition from the CWHL. Taylor is a highly-regarded player in the Canada Women Hockey league, and her performance this week has earned her praise from coaches, players and fans alike.
