The result of Claressa Shields vs Savannah Marshall big fight.

Claressa Shields has won every round on the judges’ scorecards to retain her WBC and WBO middleweight titles, as well as the undisputed championship.
Shields had Marshall down twice in the second round with big right hands, but the English challenger showed tremendous heart to make it to the bell. It was one-way traffic from then on, with Shields using her superior boxing skills and movement to pick Marshall apart.
The final scorecards read 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91 in favour of the three-weight world champion. Wearing a crown and cape, she walked to the ring to the sound of ‘ Claressa the Queen’ by Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley.
The first round was tentative with both boxers feeling each other out, but it was Shields who began to assert her dominance in the second. She found her range and began to pick off her opponent with some crisp shots.
Marshall did have her moments in the fight, and she enjoyed some success in the middle rounds as she began to find her way into the contest. However, Shields always seemed to have an answer for whatever Marshall threw at her.
It was a stunning display from Shields, who moves to 10-0 with two KO victories. Marshall, meanwhile, suffers her first professional defeat and drops to 8-1 with one KO win.
Post-fight, Shields called for a showdown with Christina Hammer, the WBO and WBC champion at super-middleweight. “I want Christina Hammer,” said Shields. “She’s been ducking me for years. I’m the best female fighter in the world.”
Marshall was gracious in defeat, saying: " Claressa is a great champion. She’s very fast and very powerful." This was a huge step up in class for Marshall, who had only fought eight rounds as a professional before tonight. She will learn from this experience and come back stronger.
