JuJu Watkins has committed to playing college basketball at the University of Southern California. Juju Watkins, a 6-foot guard from Los Angeles, is rated as a five-star recruit by ESPN and is ranked as the No. 8 player in her class.

Juju’s father, Juwan Howard, played 19 seasons in the NBA before becoming head coach of the University of Michigan men’s basketball team.

Juju Watkins joins a USC team that already has a strong recruiting class for next season, as the Trojans are also set to add five-star guard Dana Evans and four-star forward Amber Melgoza. USC is also in the mix for another top 2023 recruit, five-star guard Nia Clark.

With Juju Watkins’ commitment, the Trojans now have the No. 2 recruiting class in the country for 2023, according to ESPN. “My family is everything to me, and I just feel like it would be really hard to go away from them,” Juju said. “I’m really close with my cousins and I have a lot of family in the area, so it just made sense for me to stay close to home.”

Juju is ranked as the No. 8 player in the class of 2023 by ESPN, and she’s already drawn comparisons to some of the greatest players in USC history.

“I’m just really excited to get the opportunity to play at USC,” Juju said. “It’s such a historic program with so many great players, and I can’t wait to be a part of that.”
