The US Open has already started and we are waiting for a big win. But not every player has managed to win over the fans with their performances so far.

In fact, there have been a few notable upsets already, with some big names crashing out of the tournament in early rounds. Here’s a look at the tennis players who have upset their fans with their US Open performances so far.

One of the most highly-anticipated US Open matches was between Aryna Sabalenka and Madison Keys. World No. 10 Sabalenka was the heavy favorite, but it wasKeys who came out firing, winning the first set 6-3. However, Sabalenka quickly regained her composure and took the next two sets 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the second round.

Next up was another mouth-watering clash, this time between Venus Williams and Petra Kvitova. It was Kvitova who prevailed in straight sets, winning 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 to set up a meeting with US Open champion Naomi Osaka in the next round.

In other results, US Open darling Sloane Stephens was sent packing in the first round, losing 2-6, 6-7 (5-7) to Anastasija Sevastova. Stephens had won the US Open in 2017 but has struggled with form and injuries since then.

Another big name to fall on a day of upsets was Serena Williams. The 23-time Grand Slam champion started her US Open campaign with a dominant 6-1 6-0 victory over Danka Kovinic, but not everyone was impressed with her performance.

Many felt that Williams looked rusty and she made a number of unforced errors, something that she will need to improve on if she is to make a deep run in the tournament.
