Wales team scores last-gasp penalty to beat Scotland.

The Welsh team were trailing 18-15 with just seconds remaining, but they were awarded a penalty right in front of the posts. Dan Biggar stepped up and slotted the ball over to give Wales the win.
Wales got off to the perfect start when Leigh Halfpenny converted a penalty in the opening minutes, but Scotland soon hit back with a try from Greig Laidlaw. Wales responded well and regained the lead thanks to a try from Josh Adams, but Scotland struck again just before half-time to take a slender lead into the break.
The second half was just as tight, with neither side able to gain a significant advantage. With the clock ticking down, it looked like Scotland were going to hang on for a famous victory, but Wales showed great character to score a try in the dying moments and Halfpenny duly converted to give his side a narrow win.
This was a hugely entertaining match between two evenly-matched sides and it will no doubt be a hugely competitive Rugby World Cup. Wales will be pleased to have come away with the win, but Scotland will take heart from their performance and will be confident of causing an upset or two in the tournament.
In the end, it was Wales who held their nerve to come out on top. Biggar’s late penalty ensured that Wales are now in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages.
It was a disappointing start to the tournament for Scotland, who will now have to pick themselves up for their next game against England on Saturday. For Wales, it was a perfect start to their campaign and they will be hoping to build on this win when they take on Samoa next weekend.
This was a stunning victory for Wales, and one that will live long in the memory.
