Nikita Parris is a name that will be familiar to many football fans, as she is one of the most recognisable players in the women’s game. The England international has enjoyed a successful career thus far, winning numerous trophies with both Liverpool and Manchester City.
The Manchester-born star, who can operate as a winger or striker, will add more firepower to an already potent United attack that includes the likes of United’s leading scorer last season, Leah Galton.
Parris is a two-time FA WSL champion, winning the title with Manchester City in 2016 and 2018. She was also part of the Liverpool team that won the FA WSL Continental Cup in 2013.
Now, she has made the switch to Manchester United, becoming one of the first signings for the club’s newly-formed women’s team. It is a big coup for United, and they will be hoping that Parris can help them to become a force in the women’s game.
So, what can we say about Nikita Parris in a Red Devils shirt?
First and foremost, Parris is a goalscorer. Throughout her career, she has shown a natural ability to find the back of the net, and she will be hoping to continue that trend at United. In the 2017/18 season, she was the second-highest scorer in the Women’s Super League with 15 goals, and she will be looking to better that tally in the upcoming campaign.
She is also a very creative player, as evidenced by her tally of nine assists last season. She has a keen eye for a pass, and her link-up play with fellow United forwards will be crucial to the team’s chances of success.
Manchester United will be hoping that Parris can recapture the form that saw her net 34 goals in 38 games for Liverpool as she looks to help fire them to the WSL title. The 28-year-old will add some much-needed firepower to a Manchester United side that struggled in front of goal last season, scoring just 19 times in 18 league games.
Manchester United will be hoping that she can hit the ground running and help fire them to the WSL title.
