Which European female football team is the most popular?

The research, conducted by YouGov, found that the women’s team most supported in Europe is Germany’s FC Bayern Munich.
In second place is England’s Arsenal Ladies, with France’s Olympique Lyonnais Feminine in third. 45 percent of the contestants were male and 55 percent female. The survey was answered by respondents aged between 18 and 34 years old.
In terms of individual players, Lyon’s Ada Hegerberg is the most popular with 38 percent of the votes, while Arsenal’s Alex Scott and Manchester City’s Steph Houghton come in second and third place respectively with 33 percent and 32 percent.
Meanwhile, on the men’s side, Spanish giants FC Barcelona are the most popular team, followed by Manchester United and then Real Madrid.
The study also found that while men are more likely to be fans of football overall, women are more likely to be fans of the women’s game specifically. In fact, 41% of women said they were interested in women’s football, compared to just 16% of men.
So why are women more likely to be fans of the women’s game? One theory is that they can relate to the players more. Women’s football is still very much a minority sport, and as such, the players are often seen as role models for young girls who love the game.
Another reason may be that women’s football is generally seen as more exciting and entertaining than the men’s game. This is likely due to the fact that the women’s game is still developing, and as such, there are more upsets and surprises. In the men’s game, on the other hand, the best teams tend to win more often, making it less exciting for some viewers.
Whatever the reason, it’s clear that women’s football is on the rise in popularity, and with more and more girls taking up the sport, that trend is only likely to continue.
