While the men’s list is dominated by the Big Four of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray, the women’s list sees a lot of new faces.
The top 20 female tennis stars have earned a combined total of $96 million so far in 2022, with Serena Williams leading the way with $27 million.
Williams is followed by Naomi Osaka, who has earned $24 million, and Simona Halep, who has earned $21 million.
Iga Swiatek has been in sparkling form this season, winning the French Open and Wimbledon back-to-back. So far in 2022, she has earned $5,180,655 in prize money. This is significantly more than her nearest rival, Naomi Osaka.

While the men’s list is still dominated by the Big Four, it is refreshing to see some new faces on the women’s list. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the year plays out and if any of these players can maintain their spot at the top.
In men’s tennis Alcaraz’s victory at Flushing Meadows saw him become the youngest player to win a Major since Rafael Nadal did so at the same tournament 19 years ago.
