Who has made it to the semifinals among the women at the Australian Open.
Australian Ashleigh Barty leads the pack with American Sofia Kenin, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, and Slovenian Tamara Zidansek following. Each of these competitors has had their own competitive journey to reach this point in their Australian Open tournament and now have a chance at the ultimate title.
For Australian Ashleigh Barty, it has been a story of resilience and persistence that brought her back to the Australian Open stage. After an elbow injury forced Barty to miss the 2020 Australian Open, she made sure she was ready for 2021 and her hard work paid off as she sailed through the opening rounds of competition.
American Sofia Kenin also had a strong Australian Open showing, rebounding from a disappointing Australian Open 2020 and finally making it to the semifinals. Aryna Sabalenka has been a force to be reckoned with since her Australian Open debut in 2018 and she is yet again proving why she is one of the top women’s singles players.
Lastly, Tamara Zidansek rounded out the semifinalists and is quickly becoming a fan favorite for her never give up attitude. It will be interesting to see which competitor takes home the Australian Open title in 2023!
