Who is the 2022 European Sportswoman of the Year?
Iga Swiatek has been announced as the 2022 European Sportswoman of the Year, a fitting reward for her impressive accomplishments. At just 19 years old, Swiatek has already achieved a great deal in her career; winning the 2020 French Open, defeating Simona Halep in the final.
She became the first Polish female ever to win a Grand Slam after beating Australian Open Champion Sofia Kenin in October of 2020. Swiatek is currently ranked world number 8 and has won numerous awards for her achievements on the court.
She was named the WTA Player of the Year in 2020, as well as winning the ITF Women’s Singles title.The 19-year-old Polish star capped off an incredible year with a win at the French Open in October 2020 and followed up with a title at the 2021 Australian Open.
Iga’s success is made even more remarkable by the fact that she is still a teenager. Her success has made her an icon for young female athletes and a symbol of hope for achieving greatness in the sports world. Iga Swiatek’s accomplishments have earned her recognition as 2022 European Sportswoman of the Year, marking another milestone in her illustrious career.
