Who will get the final two spots on NWSL 2022?

The NWSL will host a single-elimination tournament in October to decide the NWSL Championship. And while the NWSL table is set, there are still two playoff spots up for grabs. The Courage and Red Stars clinched berths in the playoffs with 1-1 draws on Saturday.
The four teams are contesting the final two spots in the playoffs. The Houston Dash need a win or draw against Portland Thorns FC on Sunday to clinch a playoff berth. If the Dash lose, they will need either Sky Blue FC or Orlando Pride to lose in order to clinch a spot.
The NWSL will release its full schedule for the 2021 season later this month.
The Portland Thorns currently sit in seventh place with 31 points, just behind the Chicago Red Stars (32 points) and Orlando Pride (33 points). The Thorns have a game in hand on both the Red Stars and the Pride, meaning they control their own destiny when it comes to clinching a playoff spot.
A win or draw against the Houston Dash on Friday would guarantee Portland a place in the NWSL playoffs, while a loss could see them drop out of the top eight if both Orlando and Chicago win their final games.
The Thorns have been one of the hottest teams in the NWSL over the past month, winning six of their last seven games. Portland will need to continue that hot streak if they want to clinch a playoff berth.
The NWSL playoffs are set to begin on October 29, with the NWSL Championship taking place on November 5. Who will clinch the final two spots in the NWSL playoffs? We’ll find out this weekend.
