Elena Rybakina has been one of the strongest players this season and is a favourite to win her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. Having only recently broken into the top 10 for the first time, Rybakina is looking to take home her first major title.

She’s already beaten three former Grand Slam champions on her way to the final and will be playing confident tennis after reaching the semi-finals in the Dubai Tennis Championships earlier this year.

She has had a great run to the final, outlasting players such as Iga Swiatek and Petra Kvitova. Her semi-final match against Garbine Muguruza was particularly impressive and it will be intriguing to see if she can continue her form into the final.

Sabalenka, her rival for January 28th, on the other hand has had a less impressive run to the final, having come through a surprise three-setter against Sorana Cirstea in the quarterfinals. Nevertheless, she still boasts a convincing head-to-head record against Rybakina and could be seen as slight pre-match favourite for this encounter.

Regardless of who ultimately takes the title, this will be a fascinating match to watch. Will Elena Rybakina’s impressive run continue and see her lifting the trophy in the end? Or will Aryna Sabalenka’s experience prove too much for her opponent? We just have to wait and see - tune in tomorrow morning.
